Week 32 – Ordinary Objects (Ron)

Here is a twist on Ordinary Objects.  What could be more ordinary than clothes?  When our granddaughters were visiting earlier this month, I was experimenting with taking with photos with a single or selected color.  In this case it was red because their suitcases and clothes scattered about had a lot red in them.  It’s Ordinary Objects but then they are viewed in a non-ordinary way!

Week 32 – Cozy/Comfortable (Ron)

Walking through Universal City Walk in Orlando, I noticed this early evening scene which I knew immediately would make a great photo.  Here you have four park goers that are exhausted at the end of the day of walking and enjoying the roller coasters taking a nap in the these colorful chairs.  The guy on the left seems to be looking their way with a look of either yearning for the ability to lapse into a semi-comatose state or he is amazed that all four of them are out and oblivious to their surroundings.  I tweaked the colors slightly to give it a cartoon like effect!  After all we were in an amusement part!

Week 30 – Break the Rule of Thirds (Ron)

The view is of an artist hard at work in Provincetown but it seems to Break The Rule of Thirds because its hard to find the main subject leaving you a little confused about what what you should be focusing on.  The artist, in my view, is the main subject but she is located in the center facing away from the photographer and one of the paintings is in the upper third of the scene pulling your attention in that direction.  But in my misguided sense of composition, I found the scene interesting and the chaos adding tension to the image.

Week 28 – Artistic (Ron)

This is what happens when you have a rainy day and you don’t really want to leave the house; but you want to play around with the camera.  So what do you do, you step outside on to the lanai, watch the rain come down and then capture a view of the rain and the Red Sister Cordylines (Hawaiian Ti) through the lanai screen.  You get a patterned effect similar to a trapestry yielding an Artistic view of the backyard!  I softened the focus to give it to a more subtle effect.
